Ready, set, go!

For our student-athletes August is not a month in which they think of holidays, sun and the beach but the time in which they pack, say goodbye to friends and family and get ready to cross the ocean to start their new life adventure in an American college.

Carlotta Cartelli, soccer goalkeeper, will defend the colors of Louisiana Tech in Ruston, (Louisiana); Vicky Giommarini, volleyball player from Rome but with Argentinean origins will study and play for Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond; slovakian twins Dominika and Veronika Nemcova will help the women's volleyball program at Polk State, a junior college in Florida with big hopes for a great season while Erica Di Maulo, also a volleyball player from the Lombardy region, will join another Italian, Margherita Bianchin, at St. John's University in New York. Last but not least, Carolina Bologna, who played pallavolo in Abruzzo and graduated from high shcool this past July, is already in full immersion practice with the Golden Bears of West Virginia Tech.

To all of them and to all of our studen-athletes who are not Freshman anymore, we wish them the best of luck! May this new season be filled with lots of new emotions and satisfiying sports and academics achievements!
