Bowling

Bowling Scholarships:

With the first championship being held in 2004, bowling is a relatively young sport at the collegiate level. However, this does not mean that scholarship opportunities are lacking. Quite the opposite, bowling has over 150 schools and more than 1,300 female athletes. It's only sponsored for women as it's an equivalency sport, but the scholarship opportunities are quite lucrative. At the NCAA D-II level, the average awarded scholarship is $7,628. If you have the desire to compete at the next level and earn an education, Sportlinx360 can help you achieve your dream.

Bowling Season and More Info:

The season begins in late October runs until March, culminating with the National Championships being held in April. The structure of competition in the NCAA is drastically different compared to the other sports they sponsor, as all three levels (D-I, D-II and D-III) compete against each other. The highest average score in a bowling match for the women's game is 226 points over 10 matches. The most recent team champion is Vanderbilt, who have won their second title.
