Matteo Madrassi 2018

Matteo Madrassi is a fantastic athlete, determined and full of energy. He came to one of Sportlinx360's first meettings back in June 2016 in Trieste and, although he was young and just finished his 3rd year of high school, he was ready to commit to a process that could take him to collegiate sports in the USA.

Back then he jumped only 4.20m and was far from being able to obtain athletic scholarships into good USA programs. His first face to face with USA Pole Vaulting come in the summer 2017 when, with the help of Sportlinx360, Matteo spent 3 weeks with an american family in North Carolina and competed at the Charlotte Street Vault on July 22nd winning the high school age group with his first jump at  4.75 meters.

By the time he went back to Italy, Matteo was decided to jump higher and continue practicing indoor and outdoor while studying for school and to take the ACT and TOEFL. In the meantime, he is getting closer to the 5.00 meters jumping 4.90 meters at Italian Nationals and just touching the crossbar with his hand at 5.00 meters.

As his test scores come out he decides to accept the scholarship offer at Indiana Tech University, in Fort Wayne Indiana, and will major in Mechanical Engineering. But the story doesn't end here... while he is graduating from high school and finishing the paperwork for hte student visa, Matteo jumps 5.10 meters and qualifies for the 2018 U20 World Championship in Tampere!

Matteo is now ready to depart towards Indiana, a place we are sure, will allow him to continue his athletic, academic and personal growth. Best of luck Matteo!
